Looking at the bubble diagram you can see that Edmund and C.S Lewis have a lot of similarities. The space that they would share would be:
Spaces for C.S Lewis
Edmund Pevensie is a little boy from London, with three other siblings. With his brother and sisters he moved to the Professors house in the countryside as a child evacuee of the Second World War. At the start of the book Edmund is a very bitter and short temper boy, betraying his sibling because of his spitefulness. But because he is also fair minded, Edmund later became more open and giving. At the end of the book Edmund is a brave and loyal King of Narnia. C.S Lewis was a writer and also a professor and Cambridge University. C.S Lewis was also a soldier in the First World War. And like The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, C.S Lewis took child evacuees to his Kilns House in the countryside during the Second World War. So you can see where his inspiration for the book came from. Because most of his life was during the war times, C.S Lewis personality was very closed off (as were many other peoples personalities were), hiding his emotions to come of as a strong person. But looking into C.S Lewis's life you can see that through his writing he found a way to express his emotions. Lewis was writing stories in a war period and like writing about mythical creatures. |
